classic liberty is coming to target in march. hmm. will it be as adorable as what's in the store in london? we shall see~  my major worry is that apparently there are hundreds of products emblazoned with iconic liberty prints . . . seems like the look might get lost.

just say no to those same old v-day cards.  coolmompicks hosted a valentine's day card design contest, artists came up with some sweet line drawing valentines, and now you can buy the twelve winning designs at etsystore and they'll email you the pdf file.  then it's just a matter of print and hand over to your artist in residence to color ~ and, these have received that rare award - the eleven year old girl's seal of coolness.

mr. X, one of the most excellent peruvian toys of recent years, is making his tv debut this weekend in a kia commercial during the superbowl ~ he'll be there, hanging with some other fuzzy friends.  way to go, mr. X! (you can see him and all his blabla buddies here)

the continuing adventures of harry and guinevive: homeward bound

 

so, harry and guinevive have interrupted their world tour to stop at their nicely appointed yellow-painted town home in a tony area of washingline, d.c., with the express purpose of introducing their two charming children to you.  meet henrietta (her friends call her "henny"), and her little brother David (he's the sweet little ginger) ~ harry and guinevive hope you'll love them~

foodie friday becomes foodie monday, or teddy's banana bread photo tutorial

what you will need:

2 sticks (16 tablespoons) butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons baking soda in 2 tablespoons hot water
4 cups flour
6 ripe bananas

first melt the butter in a bowl and then dump in into the mixer

next add 2 cups of sugar

next mix well 

next add two eggs and mix some more

next add two teaspoons of baking soda mixed with two tablespoons of warm water and mix

next add four cups of flour, a bit at a time, while you're mixing

next add six smooshy bananas and mix well

now your work area will probably look like this

 

next prepare muffin pans, or loaf pans, or star pans, or train pans, and put the dough in

next put all your loaves and muffins in a 350 farenheit oven and bake for 45 minutes to an hour

notice there aren't any photos of the finished product ~ it was gone too quickly!
